YouTuber Wasi Imam’s brother dies of dengue in Batla House

YouTuber Wasi Imam’s brother Syed Mustafa Imam died of dengue related complications, according to close family source. Wasi Imam told OKHLATIMES that his brother was down with dengue for the last few days and undergoing treatment.

“He was hospitalized and doctors diagnosed him of pneumonia. His condition deteriorated and he was admitted to Al Shifa Hospital treatment. He died at Faridabad’s Metro hospital on Eid al-Adha at 1:30 pm,” he said, expressing dissatisfaction allegedly at the not so proper treatment provided by the Abul Fazal Enclave-based hospital.

When my brother’s condition deteriorated, I was told to get him admit in some other hospitals and with no seats available it was an arduous task, he said. Wasi Imam lives in Batla House, a few metres from Okhla AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan’s house.

This is not the first dengue death in the locality. Since the outbreak of the disease several Okhla residents have died and residents have lost the count. Moreover, with little media coverage of these deaths, the locality continues to be neglected with little ground work being taken by authorities to address the situation.

And as politicians and activists get involved in blame game, it is the residents who are suffering the most this season. Residents lamented that several cases have not been documented or reported.

Wasi Imama told OKHLATIMES that he is taking the body to his hometown Pali for burial.
