Youths attack Jamia staff with knife, rod

A Jamia Millia Islamia employee, who resides in Zakir Nagar was attacked by about four people at Bhogal Bus stand, according to sources. It is understood that injured Mustafa Hussain was rushed to Holy Family hospital where he underwent treatment, getting a few stitches on his face.

A complaint has been filed on the victim’s complaint. The attack took place late night when Mustafa was returning home from Mathura and was waiting for an auto at the Bus Stand, said people close to him, adding that it was then that four youth arrived suddenly and started beating up Mustafa, who was left stumped.

One boy used a sharp item, most probably knife, to attack Mustafa, who is UDC non-teaching staff at Jamia. A few even attacked him from behind.

Mustafa started shouting for help and a few people arrived on the spot to help him, said sources. Now he is recuperating at his home.
