Victims of domestic violence, eve-teasing in Okhla: Chance to get your tormentors nailed

A public hearing on the issue of increasing molestation, issues of domestic violence and sexual harassment against girls and women is to be held in Okhla on Monday near the Durga Mandir Dharamshal Jasola near MCD primary school adjoining Metro line with support of Delhi Commission for Women.

This is the first such campaign against women violence.

DCW chairperson Swati Maliwai and other members of DCW are also going to participate in the event to address cases of women violence.

“To register your case for hearing contact Kausar Parveen mobile no. 9990121503 or EFRAH , A- 6, 1st floor, Khajoori road, Joga Bai Extension, Batla House and EFRAH, E-110/2 second floor, near old police Chowki, Shaheen Bagh, near new kabristan Shaheen Bagh,” said a released issued by a social activist.

“If any case registered by July 25 it will be discussed with DCW members on July 26 and other cases filed with any other agency have not been heard till date also discussed in the event,” said the statement.

Moreover, a call has been given to residents of Jamia Nagar and especially women whose want to stop violence against women to come forward.

The issue of eve-teasing with schoolgirls outside government schools was raised recently by social activists with one group even submitting a memorandum to the top police official in the locality seeking prompt action to bring an end to the menace.

Also, a copy of the memo was handed over Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan.
