Video: Deep boring addresses residents’ water woes in AFE.

Residents in this part of Abul Fazal Enclave are happy after the Delhi government used deep boring pump to extract water and distribute them for free among residents.

“For the last many months we were having water problem. With water level depleting, many residents in my locality faced problem in getting groundwater. Several efforts made by me to get things fixed failed. Now, one has to get 80-feet deep boring in AFE to get water. We are thankful to MLA Amanatullah Khan for getting this boring done after which our water woes have been addressed,” said Abdul Wasey, a resident of Abul Fazal Enclave.

It is important to point out the water in not proper for drinking but is used for other household works, said a resident. In AFE and many parts of Okhla, there is no piped water supply and hence residents buy drinking water from several mushrooming water plants in the locality.

Piped water continues to be a dream for many Jamia Nagar residents with many going for private boring in their house. As the groundwater is not good containing dust it is not used for drinking purpose.

Many residents have installed water RO in their flats and those who cannot afford it buy water from private suppliers.
