Urdu journalists visit Nagpur on RSS-backed body’s invite

A few Urdu journalists were invited to Nagpur where they were briefed on triple talaq and the Bharat Mata Ki Jai controversy.

They participated in an event organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) on April 17 headed by a senior RSS official, according to journalists who took part in the event.

“Some 25 journalists, including those from Urdu media, and 15 guys from social media were invited to Nagpur to participate in MRM event. There we were briefed on Bharat Mata Ki Jai and triple talaq. A few were from Kashmir’s Urdu media too,” said MJ Ansari, senior journalist of an Urdu daily, who took part in the event.

The organization paid for their stay and travel to the city, claimed another journalist who also participated in the event and is post bearer of the MRM.

RSS-backed MRM was floated in 2002 and it claims to act as a bridge between the Hindu and Muslim communities of India.
