UPSC Civil Services Main 2016 Results were announced on Tuesday and about 3000 have been shortlisted for interviews to be held in March. Of them 41 students are from Jamia’s Centre for Coaching and Career Planning.
“This time around some 41 students have cracked the Mains and are now to appear for interview. The number is impressive. About 130 students coached students by the Centre had cleared the prelim,” Centre’s deputy director Mohammad Tarique told OT.COM.
While declaring the results of the Civil Services Main Examination 2016, a UPSC statement said: “On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2016 held by the Union Public Service Commission from 3rd December to 9th December, 2016, candidates whose roll numbers are mentioned in the list published on the UPSC website have qualified for the Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Central Services.”
The coaching centre is funded by UGC and is for minorities with reservation for woman candidates.
The interview for the one of the toughest tests in India is likely to commence from March 20, 2017 onwards, according to reports. It is understood that now Jamia coached students will be trained to crack the interview and make it to the final.
