Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Jamia Millia Islamia soon, according to sources. It is understood that during his two-day visit to India, Erdogan is to come to Jamia also where he is to be honoured.
According to a daily report, his tour is to begin from April 30. During his visit, India and Turkey are going to explore ways to strengthen anti-terror cooperation, deepen trade and investment ties.
“The President of Turkey is to visit the campus. And the university is to give him Honorary doctorate degree,” said Dr Mohsin Ali, coordinator and founder member of Department of Trukish language and literature.
Hurriyet Daily News reported: “Erdogan will participate in Turkey-India Business Forum and will hold political talks with Indian leaders, particularly President Pranab Mukherjee. The agenda during the meeting is expected to be dominated by an improvement of bilateral economic and trade ties.”
It was in 2008 when Erdogan had visited India and at that time he was the Prime Minister.

“Erdogan, who will discuss developments in Syria with Putin, will deliver the message that ‘the conflict in Syria can be resolved if Russia adopts a constructive position and a political transition process can begin’,” the report said.
