Hardship for many as some commuters take wrong side in Okhla

It was during the month of Ramzan when traffic was turned one-way aiming at decongesting Jamia Nagar. The response was mixed with some praising and many against. However, until police manned the traffic things were in order and residents had no problem. But it has been noticed that now gradually commuters in their eagerness to reach home early are creating traffic jam by taking wrong routes, according to some residents.

A commuter said these days it is common to see people taking wrong side to reach home early. But doing so they don’t realize that how they are creating more traffic snarls in the locality and with such commuters’ number increasing travelling has become an arduous task.

A commuter said today the Gramin Seva took the wrong side by going to Batla House from Abul Fazal Enclave arguing that they are losing money as most people who want to go to Batla House from AFE now don’t prefer going by Gramin Seva. “The business has come down drastically since one-way has been implemented,” said one Gramin Seva driver, adding that they are waiting for the old route to start again as the nallah is being build on roadside to address waterlogging issue in the area during monsoon.
