It took nearly 2 hours to douse Okhla blaze

A fire broke out in Okhla on Tuesday. About nine cars have been reported to have been damaged in the fire, according to PTI report. Till the filing of the report, no casualties were reported from the car parking area in Jasola Vihar, police said.

It took nearly two hours for five fire tenders that rushed to the spot after being informed about the fire that had taken place 1.30 pm. Confirming this, a fire official said that some nine cars parked in the locality was completely damaged. Official said the fire started from dense dry bushes in the parking area and spread.

A few months ago a fire had broken in Shram Vihar area in the night. Though nobody died in the fire that had broken late night a few people got injured. The fire had taken people by surprise living mostly in godown. As it spread the fire did immense damage to jhuggis. For days those labourers whose houses were gutted were provided food by agencies and NGOs.

And with temperature going up, there are always fears of fire breaking out due to short circuit. Keeping in mind many residents have been told to be on high alert and informed fire tenders in case fire breaks out on their campuses.
