Toddler gets head stuck in balcony in Jamia Nagar; neighbours rush to rescue him

A toddler in Abul Fazal Enclave got his head stuck in balcony in the evening, according to residents, who said some rushed to rescue the boy.

“It was at about 5 pm when people in my lane started shouting and we heard the toddler’s mother screaming for help. Everybody rushed to the balcony of the third floor in AFE. A fruit seller also rushed in to the floor. It is understood that by then the mother anyhow managed to rescue the toddler,” said a neighbour, a resident of AFE.

It is understood that a few days ago the resident had their balcony covered with rods. Most probably the toddler got his head stuck in it. A few days ago residents had come to know about an incident in which a small baby had died after falling from the balcony. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors had declared the baby brought dead. The incident had left residents deeply upset.

Many strongly residents strongly feel that balcony should be covered with iron rods so as to save children from falling.

“The incident is really shocking. For minutes we were just left speechless. The mother showed enough courage and patience to get her toddler rescued,” said the neighbour.
