Four people have been arrested for allegedly thrashing three people when they were going to dispose of animal entrails and hide after Barkrid, a few kilometers from Okhla in Kanjhawla area of outer Delhi, according to police.
“Four accused — Navin, Raju, Devesh and Abhishek — have been arrested and efforts are being made to nab the rest. We are also verifying whether these men are cow vigilantes and belonged to any group,” said Vikramjeet Singh, DCP (Outer).
The incident had taken place when three people Abdul Khalid, a teacher of a madrassa in Z Block of Aman Vihar, tempo driver Ali Hasan and the minor were on their way to dump the animal waste at an isolated place in Rani Khera. Khalid told police that their tempo loaded with animal waste was intercepted by the attackers.
The trio was attacked by clubs and rods, according to PTI report.
Police reached the spot after getting a PCR call and admitted Abdul and Hasan to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.
A case under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been registered at Kanjhawala police station in connection with the attack. The development has left shock waves in the national Capital. The National Minority Commission has been told to look into the matter.
