Sad news: 15-year-old drowns in Yamuna while saving friend

In a shocking incident a teenager died after being drowned in Yamuna River. The incident took place on Sunday when the boy was trying to rescue is friend, according to police. Though he was able to save his friend but got swept away by the high-speed water at Okhla Bairaj region of Yamuna River.

The victim has been identified as Saurabh Verma (15). Police said he lived in Noida Sector-45 Sadarpur village and was studying in class-8th. It is understood that while returning from school they (including Verma and his friends) jumped in Yamuna River to swim and also beat summer heat. It was while they were swimming that one among them slipped accidently in deep of the river. As he was about to be drowned, his friend Verma jumped to save his friend.

He brought his friend back at the corner, but as fate was to be he accidently slipped and was swept away by strong currents. Police told a daily that they were informed by the locals about the incident that rushed to the spot. Police brought Verma’s body and he was rushed to Apollo hospital. However, he was referred to the AIIMS and didn’t survive.
