On Teachers’ Day, Noor Nagar teacher Saifur alleges assault, kidnapping; AAP Councillor Wajid denies allegation

A government school teacher at the centre of attraction in Okhla opens up and narrated his ordeal with AAP Councillor Wajid Khan who is being named in the issue denying the allegation.

When asked whether he assaulted a government school teacher of Noor Nagar today, he said: “I didn’t beat him up. There was argument and we came to the police station. Actually it was the teacher who verbally abused me over phone.”

But teacher Wajid whose real name is Saifur Rahman told a different story to OT.COM from a hospital where he was taken for medical.

“Some 15 days ago, AAP Councillor by name Wajid sent somebody for admission. As principal was not in I told him that he has come late. I told him to come some other time. But he gave me the phone with a man on other side introducing himself as Counsellor Wajid Khan. He appeared to be angry on phone. I told the man that I know MLA Amanatullah Khan. The man left. It was today that the Counsellor came at 4 pm and called me from the school.

“I was forcibly put into a car where a few men were there. The car sped towards Holy Family Hospital. They threatened me and even assaulted me. As the traffic on the road was heavy, I told them that I was feeling dizzy and I jumped from the car and anyhow managed to flee from the spot. I reached Jamia Nagar police station and the MLA and Councillor too landed there after a few minutes. I was verbally abused and threatened. I informed my teacher colleagues who turned up at the police station. I am her for MLC and can’t talk to you anymore,” said Saifur, who is a resident of Noor Nagar.

After the news spread like wildfire in the locality former Congress MLA Asif Md Khan and his supporters picketed outside the police station seeming justice for the teacher. And as the protest was going on, Congress leader Pervez Alam Khan did a FB live from outside the police station.

It is understood that a police complaint has also been submitted in the police station seeking action against the Councillor. Reporters too flocked the locality to get to the depth of the story.

It is understood that police is probing the matter.
