One of Okhla’s landmark sweet shops in Abul Fazal getting facelift

There are several sweet shops in Okhla. Many are known brand. But of them there are many small one that over the years have their mark and are popular with residents. One such shop is located in Abul Fazal Enclave.

Kalindi Sweet corner is a landmark one for residents living in H and G block. Moreover, it is one of the oldest shops in and around the locality. The shop is closed these days and is getting a facelift. It is understood that it will be opened soon for residents, including its captive audience, who are known to buy fresh samosa and other sweets from it. Also, at leisure many youths can be seen sipping tea with friends and discussing important issues.

For many living around it, the shop is the best place if you don’t wish to invite your friends to your house, said a resident, who is regular to this shop. “I have been living in the locality for more than decade and I am regular visitor. Besides fresh samosa, the shop is also known for fresh jalebis. These days the shop is closed and when asked, its owner told me that it is getting a facelift. On the whole stretch this is the only sweet shop,” said Naseem Ur Rahman.

It is another story that in the last few years several eateries have opened in and around with same earning good name in a short period of time, said a food buff.
