It was around 10:30 pm went power went off in the area and since then there is no supply, said a resident of L block. It is understood that there is power supply in a few lanes of AFE putting residents in hardship on Sunday.

“The power cut on Sunday took us aback. I have been waiting for the power to come so as to start my motor to store water. The reason for the power cut is not known. Had residents been informed we would have stored water and our work would have not suffered,” said Atif, a resident.

A few months ago power cut was a big issue in the locality. However, it was addressed with the installation of several transformers in the locality. The situation then in Shaheen Bagh was particularly bad as residents had claimed long hour power cut in their locality. Some agitated residents then even had organised a peaceful protest for improvement in the power service.

The situation in the locality was bad during summer peak days, according to residents.
