Notice for admission under sports quota for session 2017-18.
Jamia Millia Islamia invites applications for admission under sports (quota) category from the outstanding players who have represented at international, national, State, regional and university level in the tournaments organised by Association of Indian universities.
The admission under sports quota is available for undergraduate, postgraduate courses in all faculties except the Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Architecture and Ekistics, Dentistry, Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, AJK MCRC and in other programmes as decided by the Academic Council from time to time.
The interested and eligible candidates may apply on the prescribed form which can be collected from the Office of the Games and Sports, Jamia, on all working days (Monday to Friday) between 10 am and 4 pm wef May 18 to June 22 on the cash payment of Rs 100.
The admission under sports category is limited to the following games: Athletics, badminton, shooting (air pistol and air rifle), table tennis, lawn tennis, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, volleyball, wrestling and boxing (men only).
The last date of submission of form is June 22, according to university notice. Detailed information is provided on the university website.
The university is known to churn out great Indian sports persons. Cricketer Virender Sehwag is Jamia alumnus.
Moreover, some of its students have even represented India in hockey and other sports bringing laurels for the country.
