Road to Sitara Mosque located on Azad road in Abul Fazal Enclave is in bad shape. Devotees visiting the mosque that came up years ago after a local resident donated the land to mosque are facing hardship.
Though no mishap has been reported from the spot residents lamented for weeks the manhole is open. What is shocking is that five times a day several residents rich and poor visit the mosque to offer prayers but are least bothered about the manhole that is open.
A few days ago this portal shared the photo on the social media with the hope that local authorities will swing into action. But it has failed to move them with no improvement in the situation. Residents said this is not the only case in the locality. A walk through the locality in lanes and roads one can easily get an impression that nothing h as happened in the locality for the last few years. And interestingly, as civic elections are a just a few months away leaders and political aspirants have started talking about cleanliness and development doing little to improve the situation as everybody is involved in blame game.
“It is only during election time that leaders remember about cleanliness and poor roads and sewer otherwise they don’t talk about it,” said Naseem Ur Rahman.
