Mobile shop burgled in Jamia Nagar; owners heave sigh of relief as robbers didn’t steal Rs 50K.
Another robbery took place in Jamia Nagar. According to a resident, a mobile shop located in Abul Fazal Enclave was burgled two days ago.
A complaint too was filed, said a resident.
Mohd Siraj said: “The shop owner name is Mohd Aslam. The weird thing is that the robbers just took away accessories which cost around Rs 4,000. They didn’t pick up phones. Most of the phones available in the shop are basic low cost phones.
“There was more than Rs 50 thousands cash available in the shop as the owner had forgotten to take it away. Thanks God the robbers didn’t see that cash locker.”
Residents lamented that this is not the first case in the locality that recently has seen rise in robbery cases. Several complaints too have been filed in which residents have claimed that how their houses and shops have been targeted by robbers in daylight and at night.
A few months ago, leaflets were distributed in the locality carrying photo of a man accused of lifting inverter batteries from mosques.
Moreover, several posters too had come up in the locality urging residents to identify the man whose photo was captured in the CCTV camera installed in a few mosques of Johri Farm. The accused was arrested.
