The strange story of ‘Sher-e-Bihar’ Shoaib of Okhla

Shoaib Khan needs no introduction. Years ago, this Batla House leader had emerged as a leader from Bihar with captive audience in Okhla. And since then he has tried his luck in the political ring with little success.

Moreover, to make his political career he jumped from one party to another. In the last Assembly election when the AAP made its debut and lost to then Congress sitting MLA Asif Md Khan, Shoeb sided with Shoeb Danish. Some untoward incidents too had taken place then, according to sources.

After which as AAP started emerging in Delhi, Shoeb joined the AAP. But later on he quit the party and for a while was with the BJP.

Then again he quit the party to join AIMIM with the hope to revive his political fortunes in the locality, said sources, a claim that OT.COM was not able to authenticate independently.

Sources said for days Shoeb was frontrunner for the AIMIM ticket from ward number 100 Batla House. However, once again he didn’t succeed in getting ticket and now reports have surfaced that he has joined his old party AAP again with Okhla AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan sharing his photo of joining the party with AAP candidate Mahmood Ahmed also on his side.

Shoeb couldn’t be reached for his comment. But reports have surfaced that he has decided to back Mahmood in this election against two-time sitting Congress councillor Shoeb Danish, who is seeking to win from his ward for the third time.

All told, this year has seen several leaders from Bihar in the fray from Okhla with majority from ward number 102 S Abul Fazal Enclave where according to rough estimates the population of people from this State is high.

Several leaders from Bihar, including Sarwar Iqbal Khan, Pervez Alam Khan, Shafiq Ur Rahman, Shiekh Imran Alam and others, are in the fray this time around.
