Shaista Khan made a crucial contribution to a worthy social cause to make a difference. She contributed a carful old books collected from students to the Dr APJ Kalam library being established by Plasma director Rizwan Khan.
“I met her a few days ago and she contributed a lot of old books to the library. We are really thankful to her for her valuable contribution that will go a long way in establishing the library for the deprived students,” Khan told OT.COM.
Shaista teaches mathematics in Jamia Hamdard School Sangam Vihar.
Besides, Khan runs a coaching institute at Okhla Head and he also provides free coaching to marginalised in police public library. It was a few months ago when Khan conceptualized the idea of establishing a library in the name of former President of India in Okhla and Gaya.
Since then Plasma has organised several events to drum up support in the locality to collect old books to be kept in the library. The entry to the library is free for students, said Khan, adding that there is an urgent need for a library in the locality with good environment.
A few days ago several local residents had supported his dream project.
