A report has surfaced in which three men have been arrested from their home in Shaheen Bagh for allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman in a moving car in southeast Delhi’s Amar Colony area.
The woman, a native of Jharkhand, alleged that she was gangraped by three men Aarif (23), Meherbaan (24) and Vijay (22), in a moving car last night, said a senior police officer. Following the complaint, police swung into action and nabbed the accused.
It has been reported that the woman who was assured job by one of the accused informed police around 11 pm after making a PCR call that she was raped by her acquaintances. While the woman alleged that she was raped inside a moving car, the accused said they had taken her to a jhuggi in Janta Camp, the officer said.
She told police that she had come to Delhi around a month back for searching a job, the officer said.
Police said the exact place where the incident happened will be known only after probe. Also, the victim told police that Aarif was allegedly drunk. A few months ago an incident had surfaced in the locality in which a schoolgirl had alleged that some men had raped her. Also, the survivor’s mother was shot for starting a campaign against the accused in the case. Later on the accused were arrested and the case was cracked.
