An unfortunate incident in Shaheen Bagh Mohalla Clinic a day earlier during Eid-al Adha led to the clinic closure today. In a late night swoop on the clinic, robbers broke the lock and decamped with important items like fridge, hand wash, sanitation items, TV set and other materials used by doctors.
The development has been confirmed by Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan.
He told OT.COM that it is an unfortunate incident and due to which the clinic had to be closed today.
It is really strange that the locals who committed this crime should have thought twice before targeting the Mohall Clinic that we all know is used for serving the locals, said the MLA.
Many residents were left stumped by the incident. “This is most unfortunate. Robbery cases are on the rise and regularly we come to know that residents’ houses have been targeted,” said Jawed Iqbal.
A few days ago many residents had received message on their phone informing them that how a lawyer has lost his mobile phone as robbers took it away from his house in Abul Fazal Enclave. It was only a few weeks ago when a few flats of Jamia Millia Islamia’s employees were targeted in Mujeeb Bagh. The incident had taken place after years, sources had said.
An official said how he could not get up despite hearing activities in his house. Many residents suspected that robbers must be using some chemical to keep residents unconscious during robbery, something that the portal was unable to authenticate independently.
Moreover, during Eid-al Adha several residents shared stories of stealing of goats from their houses.
