Shahe Alam, who donated liver to his ailing mother a few months ago, takes a political plunge as he is AIMIM candidate from Okhla’s ward number 100S Zakir Nagar.
It was a few months ago when report had surfaced of the death of Alam’s mother in a private hospital in Okhla.
A few days ago he had donated liver to her. It was before this unfortunate incident Alam had joined AIMIM and since then had been eyeing the ticket and at the end of the day he succeeded in getting one.
He is up against two formidable opposition leaders: Shoeb Danish of the Congress and Mahmood Ahmad of the AAP. Two-time sitting councillor Shoeb is trying to score hat-trick by winning this time around. And there is Mahmood who is doing all he could to drum up support in the locality.
It would be interesting to see who would be able to breech Shoeb’s fort that he has been holding to for the last ten years.
Local political observers said with AIMIM giving ticket to Shahe, the locality could witness a triangular fight in the upcoming April 23 MCD polls.
Candidates of all the party have already started door-to-door campaign to woo voters.
