Abstain from nuisance on Shab-e-Barat: L-G to bikers, reports Shubham Pandey.
Just a day before the night of ‘Shab-e-Barat,’ Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal hasasked the young bikers to abstain from behaviour which could be deemed nuisance or cause traffic disruption and urged to observe this pious occasion solemnly.
In a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan, it says: “The sacred night of ‘Shab-e-Barat’ is an occasion for families to pray and think of their departed family members.
“It has been observed in the past that this occasion has been misused by young bikers causing mayhem and chaos in the streets of Delhi. At times it has caused fatal accidents resulting in loss of precious lives.”
The Lieutenant Governor also said the Delhi Police will make elaborate arrangements to maintain law and order and there will be zero tolerance towards any unlawful behaviour during the night of ‘Shab-e-Barat’on 11th May 2017 from 9 pm till the morning of 6 am of the next day.
He also urged prominent religious leaders, Residents’ Welfare Associations and parents to advice the young not to indulge in anything which outrages law and order and also requested religious leaders to arrange volunteers at hot spots to assist police.
