He said the boy, a resident of Abul Fazal Enclave, used to actively participate with his father, a doctor and social activist, in dengue awareness programmes in the locality.
It was on August 15 last when his Farhan’s father had launched dengue awareness campaign in Jamia Nagar, a deprived locality lacking in basic civic amenities with waterlogged roads and pile-up garbage being the main feature of the Muslim-dominated locality.

“Several residents are down with high fever and local hospitals are full. My son too is down with high fever for the last few days. I am really concerned about his well being. Just waiting for the test result,” Pervez Alam Khan told OKHLATIMES.
Many residents lamented that with seats full in local hospitals, many patients are finding it difficult to get seats for treatment. There is huge rush at hospital of patients suffering from high fever, said residents. Many residents still remember that how a few years ago dengue outbreak in the locality had made residents’ lives difficult.
Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash that is similar to measles. And also platelet goes down. Many residents have started talking about keeping their locality clean and fogging campaign too has been launched on a massive level to stop breeding of dengue mosquitoes in the locality.
