School timings changed in Noida due to fog

Children going to schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have been updated about the new school timings from Tuesday with Monday being holiday in most of the schools due to Milad-un-Nabi.

From Tuesday onwards, according to reports, schools in Ghaziabad and Gautam Budha Nagar have been told by the authorities to change their timings owing to intense cold condition and fog.

A few days ago, Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate N P Singh ordered change of school timings for Nursery to Class VIII with effect from December 9.

“New timings of schools are 9.30 am to 3 pm. It will be effective till next order is issued by the DM,” said District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Muneesh Kumar. The change of school timings came from Ghaziabad also with its District Magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani ordering that instead of 8 am now schools will open at 9 am. It is understood that schools have been ordered not to flout the order.

The change of timings has been welcome by Okhla residents as large number of children study in schools in Noida. “It is a welcome move. Due to dense fog early morning visibility was low and I was really concerned about the well-being of my children. Moreover, with intense cold it was need of the time,” said Gudia Khanam of Okhla.

NOTE:Parents are advised to contact schools to find bus timings at stops.
