It is time of the day when children of Sarah Khairi’s age are playing in streets of Batla House. But 10-year-old Sarah is busy in some important work at her home: She is penning down her thought on a piece of paper.
A student of a school in Noida, Sarah’s accomplishment is no small as her poetry collection The Funny Fight is soon going to be published by Amazon, an internationally acclaimed publisher.
Till now she has penned several poems, but 25 of them are impressive and has been selected by the publisher to go in the book, said Sarah’s father Anwar-ul-Haque, who himself is a writer and an English guide.
Talking about his daughter’s achievements, Anwar proudly said: “She has immense potential. I am not saying this because she is my daughter. This is something that many of linguistic friends have told me. A prolific writer, she is always busy penning down her thought whenever it comes to her. People who read the poems said some of them are really impressive,” said Anwar.
When asked how Sarah picked up the habit of writing poems, Anwar told OKHLATIMES.COM that it comes naturally. “Since an early age we noticed her inclination towards poetry. My wife and I encouraged her to try her hands on it. Her hard work and perseverance have yielded positive results,” said Anwar.
