Saheba Khan: Meet India’s ‘leading’ elocutionist

Saheba Khan: Meet India’s leading elocutionist. Saheba Khan secured 2nd position in the elocution event of 32nd North Zone inter-university youth festival held at Kanpur University in January.

shahebakhanFollowing her extraordinary performance, she would be representing university in the National youth festival !! After studying in KV Pangode, Trivnadrum, she currently is studying at Jamia Millia Islamia’s Media and Governance. According to information provided on the social media account, she went to Air Force School, Jammu and currently resides in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.

A university release said Jamia students won prizes in three events in the “32nd North Zone Inter University Youth Festival 2016-17” organised by Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, from January 2-6, 2017.

The event was jointly sponsored by the Association of Indian Universities and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.

Jamia students won first prize in One Act Play for Badzaat Titli and second prize both in Quiz Competition and Elocution. They have qualified for All India Inter – University National Youth Festival being held in Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

The National Festival is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

In another event, students of PG Diploma in Acting (2016-17) of AJK MCRC, Jamia staged the play Rustam-Sohrab on the final day of Sahitya Kala Parishad’s Mahavidhyalya Natya Samaroh at Shri Ram Centre in New Delhi.

The play was Aga Hashra Kashmiri’s famous script “Rustam- Sohrab”. It is based upon an episode about a man Rustam who accidentally and tragically kills his own son Sohrab.

The play was directed by Dr. Danish Iqbal, Course Coordinator PG Diploma in Acting, AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia. Cast: Rustam (Rahil Zubaid Mansuri), Sohrab (Prince Singh Rajput), Tahmeena (Safia Siddiqui), Gard Afreed (Kamakshi Bharti), Agdam (Rohan Verma), Bagdam (Priyanshi Saini).

The student actors received standing ovation for their performance. The cast also included Shahe Samangan (Shrey Sharma), Afrasiyab(Vishal Rai), Kekaus (Intequam),Peelsam (Sourabh), Homan(Tejas),Barman(Gaurav), Behram& Sardar (Manish),Hazeer(Aditya),Toos & Sardar , (Tariq), Gustham & Sardar , (Rahul),Gudarz (Rustom) Music- Ravi & Gagan.
