As reports surfaced from Burma about prosecution of Rohingya Muslims, many in India have started talking about conditions of Rohingya refugees who fled the country for safety. They have been living in India for years in several places, including Okhla.
Activist Anisur Rahman visited the camp today and wrote this on his timeline: “Ground realities of Burma refugees: Today I visited Nuhu camp of Burma refugees in Haryana. 1,100 refugees in the camp with no proper drinking food health and sanitation, this Burma crisis is getting from bad to worst. Help is limited to paper only, it is far from ground realities, it’s high time Government must intervene now.”
