Robbers attacked a flat when its occupants were away in their home town, according to reports. The incident that took place in a flat in Shipra Sun City group housing residential complex in Noida has left many residents shocked.
The HT reported that after breaking open the house unidentified persons looked cash amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh and valuables worth Rs 6 lakh are said to be missing. The theft too place when Arti Deep and her husband, who is a Hindustan Times staffer, were in Bulandshahr, claimed the daily.
“We left home around 2pm on Sunday and came back around 10.40 pm. We saw that the locks on the main door were broken. When we went inside we found that the almirahs were damaged, gold jewellery and Rs 2.5 lakh that we had borrowed for medical expenses were missing,” Deep said.
A laptop, iPad, two mobile phones, two gold chains, four gold rings, earrings and gold bangles were missing as claimed by victim’s family.
“We are gaining insight into the theft by gathering more information about the incident. The stolen iPad was also found. We will use electronic surveillance methods as well. The culprits will be nabbed soon,” Salman Taj, superintendent of police for Ghaziabad, said.
