Robbers target flat when Batla House resident went to offer namaz

A Batla House resident went to offer prayer in a local mosque a few days ago and when he returns home he was left shocked to see the gate of his house open.

Once inside, his fear of his house being burgled turned true as he found his laptop and mobile missing.

In a police complaint, Syed Hadiul Islam, a resident of Batla House, wrote: “On February 17 at about 3 pm I went downstairs for offering namaz and when I came back at around 5:30 pm, I saw that someone has entered my house in my absence.

“My door was open when I checked my room I found that my laptop and Samsung mobile with two SIM cards were missing.”

This is not the first incident in the locality. A few days ago, a house of RTI activist was burgled. He had told the media that important RTI papers went missing from this house as robbers had got into the house by breaking another gate of his flat that he realised only later.

Residents lamented that the locality has seen rise in theft cases. It has been reported that a group of robbers have been found doing the rounds in the locality with several cases surfacing when shopkeepers are targeted on Friday when most of the people are in mosques.
