Delay in semester results leaves Jamia’s MCRC students ‘high and dry’

Students of Jamia Millia Islamia’s reputed Anwar Jamal Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK MCRC) are confused over the inordinate delay in the results of their first semester exam of 2016 batch with the date of second semester exam coming nearer.

A student said on the condition of anonymity that the students are preparing from second semester that is to be held in April end-May and yet we don’t know about the results of first semester that was held in December.

Usually result should be out by January end and it is end of March and there is no sign of results with students left confused, he said.

The result Development Communication was announced on Thursday, said the student, adding that all their efforts to find out about the inordinate delay has yielded no positive result with officials giving unconvincing excuses.

This doesn’t bring good name to Jamia’s highly reputed MCRC centre, he said.

Following the development students are clueless where to go and get things addressed.

Dr Iftekhar Ahmed, is director of MCRC and comes from a town in Bihar whose many people are allegedly holding influential positions in Jamia since Professor Ahmad became the V-C who is from Jharkhand that before partition was part of Bihar, a claim that OT.COM was unable to independently verify.

Also, Dr Ahmed, allegedly known to be close to the V-C, is Honorary Media Coordinator.

The perception in Jamia and outside the campus is that Jamia is not what it was during Najeeb Jung and his predecessors.
