Restless night for Shaheen Bagh residents

Restless night for Shaheen Bagh residents . The power situation in Shaheen Bagh is getting from bad to worse with little chance of improvement. K Zama, a resident of Shaheen Bagh wrote to OKHLATIMES: “At Shaheen Bagh F Block power cut since 2 am and just came at 7:45 pm.”

The six-hour power cut left many residents sweltering in heat. Residents without inverter suffered the most as they had restless night.

“The power situation is really bad in this locality. And nobody is bothered to get things fixed. We are really having hard times during night,” said activist Ziaul Haque, a resident of Shaheen Bagh. There are fears that as summer peaks things would get worst in the locality. Moreover, with Ramzan just a few days ago, many residents are looking for uninterrupted power supply in the locality.

“But with the current situation it appears to be a difficult thing for officials,” said a resident. A few days ago when a few residents had gathered at Dolphin House in Shaheen Bagh to protest against the narrowing road for park, many residents had complained about bad power situation. Residents after residents lamented that how unscheduled power cut in the locality is making life difficult for them and mostly at night.
