Resident shares this meaningful photo

Traffic jam is a major issue in Okhla with residents facing the heat. Though the issue has been debated not only on the social media but also by politicians during election time there appears to be no solution to the most vexing issue. Residents continue to spend hours in traffic jam that in most the cases is the result of lack of driving sense among commuters.

jamokhlaThe case in point is one such jam that happened on Friday with the road from Okhla Head to Tikona Park to Jamia being chock-a-block. The jam continued for hours, said eyewitnesses adding that it was result of people driving in the wrong lane. And as the chaos prevailed two residents were seen reprimanding a few people who had got into the wrong lane in hurry to reach their destinations, unaware of the fact that it was only exacerbating the situation.

Shocking, eyewitnesses said, when two residents stopped a few educated drivers from getting into the wrong lane they were faced with resistance. It was only after heated argument that the driver agreed to go back. However, once the two men left the educated drivers came back on the wrong side.

When some were pointed out for getting into the wrong lane, they raised their eyebrows as if they were not doing anything wrong. Some among them even argued that everyone was driving in the wrong lane then why to worry.

It is very usual in Jamia Nagar, to see people parking their bikes and cars in the middle of the road and eating or purchasing briyani or any other items oblivious of the fact that their actions are giving trouble to residents and creating traffic jams.
