A “Farewell Dinner Party” was organised by Bihar Anjuman Dammam-Khobar Chapter at TAYA Restaurant – Khobar on January 1, 2018 in honour of its convener Syed Rashique Ahmad, who will be leaving Saudi Arabia shortly.
Ahmad spent more than 36 years in the Kingdom serving different companies in Jeddah and Dammam.
During his stay in the Kingdom his social works are really commendable, said the organisers.
“His social achievements include arranging financial support for education of poor students to avoid their drop outs from the school, helping seriously sick of our community, for the marriage of poor girls and many other supportive activities for the poor and downtrodden families back home in India,” it said in a release.
Those who attended the party included Mirza Zaheer Baig – president of Hyderabad Association, Abdul Waris –ex-chairman International Indian School-Dammam, Tashkeen Akbar, ex-chairman International Indian School Jubail, Farooq Patel-Bhatkal Association; Dr Wajahat Farooqui of Sir Syed Mission, Shameem Jaipuri Memorial Society, Syed Minhajuddin and Zulfekhar Adeeb – president and secretary, Telangana Association, respectively, Syed Khaled Nasiruddin, Rizwanullah Khan and Serajuddin Khan of SEWA – Dammam. Apart from this several other dignitaries from Dammam, Khobar and Jubail attended the party.
“They highlighted and admired the community services of Ahmad and his contribution, for the educational and social development of the downtrodden in our community back home in India, in their individual speech and wished for a long healthy and happy life for Ahmad,” said the release.
Iqtedar Ahmed -an ACM (Advisory Committee Member) welcomed the guests and Jawed Ahmed thanked the guests and attendees.
Prominent ACMs who attended and played an vital role in arranging this farewell party were Ghulam Rabbani, Jawed Ahmed,. Mohamed Zeyauddin Khan, Kazim Nazer; Waqar Ahmed, Razaul Islam, Wasim Azam; and Haseen Raza Khan.
Ahmad was presented the bouquet and a momento by the ACMs (Advisory Committee Members) of Bihar Anjuman-Dammam Khobar Chapter (BA-DK Chapter) for contribution of his social activities as a convener of BA-DK Chapter and as a Moderator of Bihar Anjuman in KSA.
Later, in his farewell speech Ahmad thanked BA-DK Chapter ACMs for throwing such a memorable party in his honour and also thanked for the support he got from different social organisations and forums of the eastern province in accomplishing his social activities.
He named Hyderabad Association, Telangana Association especially for it. He also wished them more success and achieving more heights for BA-DK Chapter. He also nominated Shakil Ahmed Hashmi as a next convener for DK-Chapter.
A shawl and a bouquet on behalf of Telengana Association was also presented to Ahmad by Syed Minhajuddin and Zulfekhar Adeeb on behalf of Telengana Association, Dammam/Khobar.
This Farewell Party was concluded with the delicious food of TAYA Restaurant.
