Rash’ driving in Okhla: 2 die in June

Every year hundreds of thousands of people die in road accident. Of them many die due to rash driving.

In Okhla, a deprived locality in Delhi, cases of death due to rash driving are on the rise. The case in point is death of a teenager on June 21. A Jamia Nagar boy Umar met with an accident and died in Okhla yesterday.

Sources who turned up at Holy Family Hospital told OKHLATIMES that the boy after meeting with the accident died on the spot. Another boy survived the accident and is under treatment at the local hospital. The two wheelers on which the boys were riding hit the car in NFC, according to sources.

Before this incident another accident had taken place this Ramzan when a woman was hit by a rogue biker. Then too as eyewitnesses told OKHLATIMES that how the woman, who had just stepped out of an erickshaw was hit by a rogue biker. The woman was thrown over at the divider and sustained head injuries. She too was rushed to a local hospital and was declared brought dead by doctors.

“Rash driving cases are increasing in the locality. I don’t understand why parents allow their minor children to drive vehicle. By doing so they put the children in danger,” said N Rahman.
