A proud moment for Mehwish

Mehwish has made her family and coach proud by scooping Gold at 2nd WorldMAC Games held at Jamia’s Sport Complex on December 11, according to Tanveer Choudhary, who organised the event.

mehwishSeveral students from across the national Capital participated in the Taekwondo Style event and impressed judges, including Alan Foster, who had come all the way from the United Kingdom, Choudhary, a Jamia alumnus, told OKHLATIMES.COM.

It is understood that 70 girl students participated in the event and vied with each other to win the medals with only a few being lucky to accomplish, said Choudhary, adding that participants were impressive and many were highly talented.

“If provided training then many girls could become stars and represent the country at national level,” said Choudhary.

DCP South Delhi was the Chief Guest of the event.

Choudhary organises martial training camps in Okhla and around. He was also awarded for his extraordinary contribution to popularize the art in Okhla and other parts of Delhi.

Choudhary said he has a plan to take the competition to other parts of India so that more youngsters could be trained in the art that comes handy for personal defence also.

Other students of Okhla also scooped awards in the competition.
