Protesters rounded up in Batla House (video)

On Tuesday when police landed on the site outside the Abbasi Colony build on Jamia land, some residents started protesting. Of them majority of them were women.

For a few minutes they were seen shouting slogans first against Arvind Kejriwal. As two AAP leaders landed on the scene standing quiet, they changed their tone and attacked Jamia for uprooting them.

First the leaders were detained and then police took up the step by detaining the women and other protesters. It was after which the authorities started dismantling the colony.

Till the filing of the report, the university has accomplished the task of regaining its lost property. But at the same time it acceded to high local political pressure from the dispensation by agreeing to build boundaries leaving 12 metres of its land for ‘road widening’.
