Hours-long protest outside Jamia Nagar Police station continues; justice sought for Saifur

It was at about 5 pm after news spread like wildfire of a Noor Nagar government school teacher being assaulted and efforts to kidnap him made that several residents, including former Congress MLA Asif Md Khan, Pervez Alam Khan and others turned up at the police station, seeking justice for the teacher.

Teacher Saifur Rahman alleged assault, kidnapping bid; but AAP Councillor Wajid Khan has denied these allegations. When asked whether he assaulted a government school teacher of Noor Nagar today, he said: “I didn’t beat him up. There was argument and we came to the police station. Actually it was the teacher who used abusive language.”

The teacher said as he didn’t knew the Councillor and there was no past enmity between them and there was no question of abusing him. He said the issue was related to admission. In earlier report he talks about his ordeal.

It is understood that the alleged victim has given a written complaint with police probing into the matter.

But till the filing of the report, a peaceful protest continues outside the Jamia Nagar police station with leaders like Aisf Md Khan and Pervez Alam seeking justice for the teacher who is also a resident of Noor Nagar.
