Nabeel on sit-in protest for release of arrested Okhla MLA Amanatullah. Since the arrest of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan from his Batla House residence, AAP workers and local leaders have continued their peaceful protest demanding earlier release of the MLA.
Activist Nabeel Khan has organised a sit-in protest a few metres from Jamia Nagar Police Station, demanding release of the MLA, whose bail pleas have been rejected twice.
The MLA was arrested on July 24 after a Jasola-based woman alleged that she was threatened at his house in Batla House an allegation that has been rubbished by the AAP and the MLA.
In a press meet, the MLA even released a video clip highlighting that he was being framed in the case.
It was the next day on Sunday that he was picked up from Batla House amid high security arrangement. In the last two days, his bail pleas have been rejected twice leaving his supporters in shock. To mount pressure on the authorities, the AAP workers have continued their protest peacefully.
Even on the day of his arrest on Sunday, workers and party leaders had turned up outside Jamia Nagar Police Station asking the whereabouts of the MLA. Later on they shifted their protest to Shaheen Bagh-Sarita Vihar road.
Then after sometime they marched to Saket Court in bus hoping for the best. But they returned dejected as the bail plea was rejected.
There was a complete shutdown of Jamia Nagar in protest against the arrest of the MLA.
