Jamia researcher Devi earns postdoctoral fellowship to Brazil

Ningombam Chandrachani Devi, a senior research fellow at Centre for Theoretical Physics, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been awarded a Post Doctrol Fellowship of R$ 4000 per month by Coordenação de Astronomia e Astrofísica - COAA- BRAZIL. 

She will join this prestigious institute for Post-Doctoral studies very soon, accoridng to the university.

Chandrachani Devi hails from Manipur and has worked under the supervision of Dr. Anjan Sen of Centre for Theoretical Physics for her Ph.D. In her doctoral research, she has studied various aspects of dark energy (late time acceleration) as well as early time acceleration called inflation, said university release.

Specifically, she has been looking for the signature of dark energy on the large scale structures through the galaxy number counts.

Recently, she was invited by the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK to give a talk “Constraining Thawing Drak energy using Galaxy number counts”. She also got the chance to present her work in the University College London, and in Trieste, Italy, claimed univeristy release.
