Despite being very close to Jamia Millia Islamia, very few vice chancellors in years have ever visited Jamaat-e-Islami (Hind) campus, according to Jamia watcher.
However, Monday was different as Jamia Millia Islamia Vice Chancellor Professor Ahmad most probably appears to be first V-C in years to visit Jamaat-e-Islami (Hind) campus where he got warm welcome on Monday.
He had gone with the university dentistry team that had organised a day-long health camp on Jamaat’s sprawling campus.
The university release said: “Free health checks up and medicines were also provided to poor and needy people.” The V-C thanked Jamaat-e-Islami Hind for providing the space for organising the health camp. Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, Ameer of the Jamaat, praised Jamia for providing free health care for poor and needy people who could not access such facilities. Information about the event was shared on the campus with a banner put around.
Earlier, in the year Jamia V-C Ahmad participated in an event held by RSS Muslim wing, according to IE report.
“I have got an intimation from the Home Ministry and I will attend. I have been the V-C of Kashmir University and that’s why they wanted me to attend,” said Prof Ahmad as reported by the IE.
