Long power cut adds to Okhlaiites’ Ramzan hardship

Long power cut adds to Okhlaiites’ Ramzan hardship. Power cuts continue to worry residents in Okhla. Today’s long hour power cut in a part of Okhla was talk of the locality.

“It was around 2:30 pm when power went off and for hours it didn’t come. The deteriorating power situation in the locality only shows that are continues to be neglected. In Ramzan when the temperature has soared unscheduled power cut do make life difficult for residents,” said Nasimur Rahman.

Residents lamented that the situation has not improved despite promises. Many had expected that in Ramzan the situation might improve but not so leaving residents in pain.

The situation of power is no better in other parts of Jamia Nagar where residents have been not only battling hot weather but unscheduled power cut. A few days some residents in Shaheen Bagh had come out of their houses in protest against long hour power cut.

However, the situation was brought under control with officials turning up on time and assuring residents that situation would improve.

With such a situation, it is not known when the power situation will improve in Jamia Nagar, a deprived locality where roads are broken, garbage is piled up on roadsides and roadside encroachment has mushroomed.
