When temperature increases people wait for rain as it brings relief from blistering heat. However, in Okhla the situation is opposite as monsoon opens up a flood of worries for residents with waterlogging turning out to be a perennial issue.
Moreover, it has been noticed that the rain has caused potholes on Abul Fazal Enclave-Shaheen Bagh road giving nightmare to commuters.
The situation is such that driving on this road that was built a few years ago has become risky. Though no accident has taken place till now, people who travel on gramin seva, bike and e-rickshaw are facing hardship.
“There are several potholes and it has become really difficult to travel on the road. The situation is back to earlier one when the road had become unmotorable. We don’t know when it will be constructed,” said Rozy.
Looking at the bad road situation, many e-rickshaw pullers prefer not ply on this route. Now, they take you via Kalindi Kunj road.
Besides, the situation in other parts of Okhla too has gone from bad to worst with roads in bad shape and waterlogging become a perennial issue.
Residents lamented that Shaheen Bagh is the worst hit with waterlogging a regular thing with residents have no option getting ready to tackle the situation.
