Innumerable potholes resurface in Batla House as rain washes away cold-mix fill. It was a few days ago when sloppy work was done on the Batla House road with potholes being filled with mix red mud and pebble.
Though the work was unsatisfactory, many residents heaved a sigh of relief that at least the roads from Batla House to Abul Fazal Enclave on which hundreds of thousands residents commute daily was to some extent motorable.
However, it was short lived as heavy rain for a few days washed away cold-mix fill. Following which several potholes have resurfaced in the locality with resident lamenting that travelling has become an arduous task. Some pointed out that travelling on Jamai Nagar road has become a nightmare with innumerable potholes resurfacing all across the road.
Though no major accident has taken place, residents said reports have surfaced of several vehicles going turtle. Moreover, what has left many stumped that many are unconcerned with the development and continue to do job as usual. Interestingly some even are finding excuses of why the roads are in bad conditions, said a resident on the condition of anonymity fearing reprisal.
A young boy met with an accident a few days ago when the scooty on which he was travelling on got stuck in a pothole.
Confirming this development to OKHLATIMES, Zia Choudhary, whose son is undergoing treatment at a hospital and suggest two months bed rest, said his son received severe injuries after the vehicle he was travelling on got stuck in a pothole in Khallilullah Chowk.
