Police ease off Okhla residents’ Ramzan hardship

Police ease off Okhla residents’ Ramzan hardship. Police in Okhla are busy these days manning the road to avoid traffic jam during Iftar time. Since Ramzan started two days ago, police have been found manning the roads making sure to avoid traffic snarl, a common thing for residents.

Local police official Suhaib Ahmad Farooqui shared a few photos on his timeline of how policemen in the locality are easing off traffic in the locality making sure that residents reach their home on time to break Iftar with their family members. The decision was taken as traffic situation in the locality has gone from bad to worse with gridlock being usual feature.

This is not the first incident. Last year too police were seen helping residents reach home early. Besides, to win hearts and minds of residents, police have been running free coaching institute in Jamia Nagar police station where poor students are given guidance to crack competitive exams.

The police station was at the centre of controversy recently when a few local activists had launched a campaign on the social media to close it.

However, the issue has been resolved with some locals in support of continuation of the police public library which they feel is serving the residents.
