A poem on rain after heat by Husain

A soothing shower of rain
After tormenting wave of heat
Gives the parched lips of Okhla, writes Husain Haider Rizvi

rain in delhi with monsoon comingA faint moistening smile of relief,

A sigh of solace and tranquility.

The motley clouds of dust
Settled down: giving way to breeze

Blowing into lanes and alleys;

The kids spill out of their ghetto
To feel the fresh touch of rain

The drops of blessings and bounties;
The concrete jungle has no flora no nurture and gift.

Nature like mother takes care
Of these children a green smile.
