Outages torment Okhla residents

Outages torment Shaheen Bagh residents. Residents of Oklha are finding it hard to have a decent life this summer. What has made their life difficult is not only scorching heat but unscheduled power cut in the locality.

“The power situation is really bad. Yesterday only there was no power in the locality for long hours. In this high humidity residents are unable to do anything. Long-hour power cut has added to residents summer woes. Children are able to sleep properly. People who don’t have inverter are the worst hit. And when there is in power it is very difficult to get your inverter charged,” said Arif Khan, a resident of Shaheen Bagh.

Many residents lamented at poor power supply in the locality this year. “The power is coming and going. Many residents are facing the heat that too at a time when temperature is going up,” said another resident of Abul Fazal Enclave.

It is understood that to mount pressure on the authorities some residents have planned to protest against power cuts in the locality by tomorrow. A meeting regarding this was held in Okhla, according to a reliable source.

“Fed up with regular power cut, some residents called a meeting to discuss protest strategy. No exact date has been set for this but chances are that it could be held by tomorrow or any other day,” said a resident on the condition of anonymity.

OKHLATIMES could not find out about the protest on its own.
