Started since September 2011 with one report, today the portal has more than six thousand groundbreaking reports and most of them on Okhla, a deprive locality in Delhi whose reports five years ago used to rarely find place in the mainstream media.
“For the last few years we have been struggling to provide news in a friendly format. Our struggle has ended now as we have succeeded in adding new features to the portal like making it not only responsive but friendly to all mobile and tablet formats for easy reach to mobile users in the locality whose numbers have increased in the last few years,” said COO FA Khan.
In the last five year, the portal has changed its design twice. Moreover, with the new team in and the new management after prolong deliberation have decided to carry on analysis reports on important national and international events that impact locals also. Special attention will be paid to video features with the YouTube channel being placed on the homepage.
The portal wants to engage with captive readers, but we don’t know how to accomplish it and this can be only achieved when suggestions from readers flow in, said Khan, adding that we expect our readers to play more active role like sharing local reports, videos and photos so as to strengthen community voice and local governance.
Also, the portal has now gone multi-lingual to meet readers’ demand.
As the new designed portal has gone live today, we request our readers to have patience before minor issues are ironed out.
