Some Okhla warriors participate in event at Parliament

On the occasion of International Water Day Function of Jaladhikar Foundation held on March 24, some activists from Okhla too participated in the event.

On that occasion, VoC Abdul Rashid Agwan spoke on water rights in Islam, Mohammad Nizam convened a session and Shaheen Kausar made a remark.

Around 15 participants from Okhla joined it.

OT.COM reports that water is a major issue in Okhla where there is no piped water supply. Despite the area being in Delhi, it lacks in water supply with large number of people buying water on daily basis. Moreover, the underground water is not proper for use.

Residents bank on underground boring water. The large use of boring has led to groundwater deplete in the locality, according to sources. Though there is no data available over the issue, residents lamented that now one has to dig deep to get water which earlier was available easily.
